General : 2 h after PBCV-1 infection of Chlorella cells parts of newly forming capsids are located in defined areas in the cytoplasm. Membranous materials which assume vesicular or angular shapes are usually seen in the virus assembley center. The newly forming capsids can have a rosette appearance, which surrounds the virus assembley center. By 5 h p.i. the cells contain a mixture of filled and partially filled capsids, empty capsids, and incomplete capsids. |
Picture : By 6 h after PBCV-1 infection the cells contain many filled capsids which are distributed throughout the cytoplasm.
